This book is not exactly what I thought but it is still a good asset. I would not use it for a complete lesson plan because the lessons are very short and you have to add a lot of your own stuff. But it is great at getting the children to experience the Bible story and what it might have been like to actually be there.
Some of the lessons do require a lot of preparation, there is a list of requirements, but it's deffinitely worth it for the kids.

| This is the coolest way to help kids discover, understand and REMEMBER stories from the Bible! The kids get to BE part of the story as they use ALL of their senses. Even the shyest of kids will come out of their shell as they discover the truths of God's Word! You don't need a lot of fancy props, but if you have an outgoing leader to be the narrator, the kids will be more than enthusiastic to be in your group each time! I would highly recommend this resource for preschoolers thru early elementary kids. Open a can of tuna, then invite everyone to crawl inside and experience the sights, smells & discomforts Jonah endured for three days. Each experiences takes a bit of set up and creative staging, but it is worth the effort. Children's ministers will appreciate this resource. It contains 13 familiar Bible stories taught in new, innovative ways. The kids in my ministry don't want to just sit still and listen, and each one of these stories allows them to use their imaginations as they travel back in time.
We're all looking for variety and creativity in our children's ministries, and the lessons in this book deliver just that! The story of Gideon is rowdy with popping paper bags and waving glowsticks while the Passover lesson sets a more somber and reflective tone. A CD with cool sound effects is included, too.
Children's ministers who have used Group's Easy VBS may recognize some lessons as "old friends."
